Eniteo vs PS Data: A Standard Suite or Software Shaped Around Your Shop?

Eniteo is a broad standard suite with analytics AI. P.S. Data's SSCS is tailored shop by shop and uses AI to turn scanned POs into sales orders.

Choose Eniteo if you want a standard, broad product that covers the business from quote to accounting, with a family of add-ons around it and an AI that answers questions about margin and inventory. Choose P.S. Data's SSCS if your shop has habits you will not give up, you want the vendor to build around them, and the job you most want off people's desks is keying customer POs into sales orders.

The two makers are Midwestern neighbors, Enmark in Ann Arbor and P.S. Data in Middletown, Ohio, and both name flat-rolled and toll processors among the businesses they serve. Both are long-established and metals-only, and neither publishes a price. The real split is philosophy: a standardized product that Enmark says more North American service centers use than any other system, or software its maker calls intentionally not one-size-fits-all.

What Eniteo does well

Eniteo is the broader product on paper. Enmark lists sales, purchasing, receiving, shipping, production order scheduling, outside processing and accounting, and names multi-line, specialty metals, bar, plate, pipe and tube, flat-rolled and toll processing as segments it serves.

The published detail is strong on the commercial and receiving side: an advanced quoting system with pricing matrices, buy-outs created straight from the customer order, full tag traceability with barcodes throughout, automated receiving via SteelXML, and automated shop order creation for toll work. Around the ERP sit Enmark Pay for online invoice payment and EnVision AI for analytics. Since January 2024 Enmark has also carried Bayern Software's Steel Plus and Capstone customers.

A standard product tends to carry a quiet advantage: more shops run the same version, and the next hire may already know it. Enmark also says Eniteo was voted the top ERP by Metal Center News readers.

What P.S. Data does well

P.S. Data was founded in 1991 by Paul Sivak, who came from Southwestern Ohio Steel, and Modern Metals reported in February 2026 that it serves more than 300 global metal companies. SSCS (Steel Service Center Software) is a Windows-based ERP and CRM with business intelligence, mobile apps, e-commerce, a Steel API and machine integration.

Its flat-rolled page reads like a list from a scheduler's desk: sales orders with toll processing, blanket orders, pricing matrices, a quote system with custom templates, machine schedules for each machine, priority on work orders, and shift production displays. It publishes a long list of EDI transaction sets, from the 850 purchase order to the 820 remittance.

The customization is the point. P.S. Data describes SSCS as intentionally not a one-size-fits-all solution. It also told Modern Metals that when it builds a change for one customer, it works to push that change out to customers in the same market segment within three months, so custom work is not meant to stay a one-off. P.S. Data also offers MySteelCloud, its own monitored data center, backed up to Microsoft Azure every 15 minutes.

Two kinds of AI

Both vendors have AI, and they point it at different ends of the day.

P.S. Data aims at data entry. It told Modern Metals that SSCS scans a purchase order and uses AI to merge the content into a sales order in the ERP, and that each client's AI model is set up around where that client wants validation checks by humans. It also connects Microsoft Copilot to the ERP for plain-language inventory questions. Because the setup is built per client, ask to see it running on POs from your own customers, including the messy ones.

Enmark aims at analysis. EnVision AI answers plain-English questions about profitability, inventory and customer performance, sends alerts when margins dip below set levels, flags dead stock, picks up churn signals and creates follow-up tasks. The EnVision page does not mention reading POs or emails into orders.

Which fits which shop

An order desk buried in emailed PDFs

SSCS has the published answer here, since PO-to-sales-order is an AI feature P.S. Data describes directly. The question is coverage: how many of your customers' formats the setup handles on day one, and who maintains it when a buyer changes templates.

A general manager who wants to know which accounts are slipping

EnVision AI is built for that question. Margin alerts and churn signals sit closer to the owner's office than to the order desk.

A toll processor with a long EDI list from an automotive customer

Both name toll processing as a segment. SSCS publishes its EDI coverage in detail, including the 830 planning schedule and 856 ship notice that automotive work tends to bring; Eniteo publishes automated shop order creation for toll jobs. Ask each to process one real release end to end.

The trade-off is worth asking about directly. Ask Enmark how far Eniteo can be configured to your habits, and ask P.S. Data how upgrades work for a heavily customized install and who owns the changes made for you.

The bottom line

Eniteo suits a shop that wants a broad, standard product with payments and analytics in the same family. SSCS suits a shop that wants its vendor to build around it and wants AI on the order desk first. Neither publishes a planner that assigns the whole open book to coils and knife setups. LineSight is live with both PS Data and Enmark and adds that plan on top of either; this page covers the PS Data pairing.

Which to choose

Choose Eniteo if

  • You would rather adopt a standard product than have one built around you
  • You want quoting, buy-outs, receiving, shipping and accounting from one vendor
  • You would offer online invoice payment through Enmark Pay
  • Your owners want plain-English answers on margin, dead stock and slipping customers

Choose PS Data if

  • Your shop has ways of working you want the software built around
  • Keying emailed and scanned POs into sales orders is your biggest desk cost
  • You trade a long list of EDI documents with large customers
  • You want a Windows-based system with the option of P.S. Data's own hosted data center
  • You want machine schedules and shift displays on the floor from the same vendor
