Getting started

What is LineSight?

LineSight is AI production planning software built specifically for metal service centers. It connects to your ERP, reads your open orders and coil inventory in real time, and generates the slitting plan that puts the most material on trucks instead of in the scrap bin.

Here is the problem it solves.

At most service centers, planning starts the same way every morning. A planner opens the order book, cross-references it against coil inventory, checks what is already running, walks the floor to confirm what the system says is actually true, and then works around whatever constraints are live that day. A line is down. A customer moved a date. Freight is tight on Thursday.

Then they build the plan by hand. Usually in a spreadsheet, sometimes on paper.

That takes hours. And here is the part nobody talks about: even when it is done well, it is not done optimally. A single coil can be cut dozens of different ways against an open order book. Across a full day of orders, the number of possible combinations runs into the millions. No person can evaluate that, no matter how good they are or how long they have been doing it.

So experienced planners make good decisions. They do not make the best one, because the best one is not findable by hand.

What LineSight does differently

LineSight brings orders, inventory, and production data into one place and uses the complete picture to build the plan. It evaluates far more combinations than a person can, and it does it while respecting the constraints that actually govern your floor: grades, gauges, slitter capabilities, ID and OD limits, multiple passes, edge conditioning, PIWs, and whatever operational preferences your team has built up over the years.

The output is a work order your operators can run. Send it, download a PDF, and update your ERP in one click.

What changes

The financial impact shows up first. At Elite Steel, LineSight added roughly $850,000 in annualized revenue, cut average scrap rate by 2.9 percentage points, and lifted gross profit margin by 20%. Another customer is projected to recover several hundred thousand dollars a year in scrap savings alone.

"LineSight has taken the guesswork away from trying to maximize a coil. Because of LineSight, my employees are working more efficiently, and we're making more money on every coil."
Abizer Ghadiali, VP, Elite Steel

The second change is time. Planning that took hours takes seconds. That matters less as a productivity statistic and more as a capacity one. When a customer moves a date or a line goes down, a planner can rebuild the plan immediately instead of starting over. And a service center can take on more volume without adding planning headcount to match.

Who it is for

LineSight is built for metal service centers, with the deepest fit in flat-rolled operations that run slitting lines. It is not a general manufacturing tool adapted for metals. The domain model is metals from the ground up, which is why it understands a knife setup and a drop cut without being told.

What it is not

LineSight is not an ERP and does not replace one. Your ERP records what happened. LineSight decides what should happen next, then hands the decision back to your ERP to execute.

Most customers are fully live in under a month.
